The balance of light and dark play a very important role in all our lives. It is representative of night and day, of the phases of the moon, the passing of time.
It is with this universal concept in mind that Amanda Boutwell uses these colors as a guiding force in this body of work. Black and white, darkness and light, blend, mix, overlap and separate creating energy and movement in these pieces.
